Annotation. The article studies the problem of substantiating the need for econometric methods and models in the training of future engineers. The solution to this problem is important in connection with the improvement of the quality of economic training of students of technical specialties. To study the problem, problems from technical production are considered, which are solved using paired regression and multiple linear regression. Pairwise regression was used to predict the production of building materials in Kazakhstan, and multiple linear regression was used to predict the economic indicator in the Russian ferrous scrap industry. It is proposed to include econometric methods in the content of the mathematical discipline for students of technical specialties: pair regression, multiple linear regression.
Key words: economic training, technical students, econometric methods and models, paired regression, multiple linear regression.
