Abstract. The article presents the results of a study of the current situation and problems in the implementation of innovative development in the Republic of Kazakhstan. This topic is relevant, since the introduction of innovative technologies can enhance the competitiveness of the national economy by diversifying its structure. Continuous development on an industrial and innovative basis is a priority for Kazakhstan. The article presents the main parameters characterizing level of innovative development of countries for the purpose of comparison, and also analyzes the problems that impede transition of the economy of Kazakhstan to the innovative development path. Key aspect of the article is the reliance on the Kazakhstan-2050 strategy, namely the interconnection of the concepts of “education-scienceinnovation”. The article also addresses some successes, problems and factors hindering innovative development of enterprisesin Kazakhstan. Some examples of organizing financing for the implementation of innovative projects are given. The findings indicate the need to increase the intensity of efforts on the part of enterprises for the effective use of innovative potential.
