Annotation. In the article communicative method of the foreign language teaching are given. Traditional and communicative methods are compared. Communicative method is designed to teach speaking and helps to remove the language and psychological barriers in learning a foreign language. Communicative method is the most promising in the modern world, as opposed to the outdated method according to traditional textbooks.
